Annex is one of the neighborhoods in Downtown, Toronto which is bounded by Avenue Road towards the east, Bathurst to the west, Dupont towards the north and Bloor to the south. The adjacent area of Yorkville which was roughly bounded by Avenue Road to Yonge Street And, Davenport Road to Bloor Street , was included in the neighborhood. Yorkville is a residential suburb before being annexed in 1883 by the City of Toronto and was a district that has been known for upscale shopping, a vibrant neighborhood that is given more life by its restaurants, bars, nightclubs and the famous University of Toronto.
